Safety

At Pacific Divers we have developed and formalized our operations and safety proceedures to ensure our customers receive a standardized and safe excursion every time they go out diving with us.

We always maintain operational standards in line with those in New Zealand and Australia. This cannot be said of all Cook Islands dive operators, in fact we are confident in saying that we offer the highest level of service, safety and dive quality in the Cook Islands.

All dives have a dive professional, divemaster or instructor, in the water guiding the dives. Every excursion has an additional team member on the boat as a boat operator and surface safety person. This is not always the case in the Cook Islands.

We carry a first aid kit and oxygen kit on board. We are also members of the Divers Alert Network, keeping ourselves informed of any developments in how to dive safely.

Additional safety gear that we carry as standard includes:

VHF Radio
Cell Phone
EPIRB
Flares
Float line for divers
Twin engines
Long anchor warp
Emergency floatation

We also have personal dive computers fitted to all regulators. This might seem unnecessary but experience has taught us that not all divers monitor their profiles or stick to the recommendations of the divemaster. Individual computers allow all divers to be aware of their own no-deco limits and thus ultimately providing the maximum safety and security for all divers.
